Walls

built another wall the other day,

I made it high, thick and sturdy,

slung my words and poor choices

to the top beams and hoisted

them with expectation.

I cemented slanders so deep

I’ll never again see the faces

of the ‘bodies that once

once walked along side me

for the foundation was laid with regrets,

allowing for weakness

to be the source of the swaying

of unsteady beams,

collapsing all hope of love,

crushing us beneath burdens

we’ll never care to lift…
