Earth Worm Jim

A letter in a box:

A note upon my grave:

Your words never reached me

no matter how hard I prayed.

My best friend right beside me

right inside of me

crawling in my head when I’m dead.

Dig me up and hold me;

tell me I look beautiful

as you kiss my skull;

Please put back the worm you pulled from my eyeball!

He was my only friend and I named him Jim!

Earthworm Jim and his little puppy keeping me company

as I skip along the lonely roads of writing verse:

Hearse rhymes with the last line and this time;

I can’t curse

as you crawl into my bowls like a tape worm;

good thing I got him!

Mr: Earth Worm Jim

My best friend right beside me

right inside of me

crawling in my head when I’m dead.
